If you talk to any of our staff, you might want to ask them one of these questions.

1. Why would someone leave their security and comfort zone to start a new ministry without any funding?
2. Why would someone trying to feed and clothe four children, ignore conventional wisdom and take a position well below their pay grade?
3. Why would someone quit their job as the vice president of a bank, sell their home and move into the basement of friends, just so they could work at a ministry for a fraction of what they were making?

The answers to those questions would probably sound something like:

1. Because God used The Ultimate Journey to radically change my life.
2. Because I want to help others experience the same life and freedom I’ve found.
3. Because I can’t think of a more worthwhile way to invest the life God has given me.
4. Because God told me to.

Unschooled and ordinary.

While in previous careers each member of our team has obtained the education, experiences, and successes this world has to offer, as it relates to the roles for which God has called us now, we consider ourselves to be unschooled, ordinary men and women who have been with Jesus. (Acts 4:13 – “When they saw the courage of Peter and John and realized that they were unschooled ordinary men, they were astonished and they took note that these men had been with Jesus.”) Our prayer is that when you see us, that you would see that we have been with Jesus.

It’s not about us.  It’s all about Him!

Fortunately, The Ultimate Journey is not about what we can pull off out of our own resources and abilities. It’s about what God wants to do IN and THROUGH those whom he calls and equips. We humbly serve at his will; so that he would have a body through which to accomplish his good, pleasing and perfect will.
